Parsa Shomali

Parsa Shomali is a composer, performer and sound artist from Tehran, Iran. He holds an M.A. in “Composition and Musicology” and has experience of studying at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, The Grieg Academy in Norway, and The University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He studied composition with professors Daniel Biro and Maka Virsaladze, and electronic composition with professors Karlheinz Essl, Reso Kiknadze, and Tijs Ham. Shomali has been selected as a composer for numerous festivals and competitions, including the Borealis festival in 2019, ICMC 2018, and the Seoul International Computer Music Festival in 2017 and 2019. His pieces have been featured in various compilations, such as “Iran’s Best Electronic Music Producers in 2016” in “Sote Boiler Room London” and “Girih: Iranian Sound Artists” published by “Opal Tapes.” His other achievements include winning first prize in the music section of the “19th Tehran International Puppet Festival” and contributing to the sound design of numerous sample libraries, such as “Augmented Orchestra” by UVI.
